Laboratory Services


Pushmataha Hospital offers a full service laboratory offering a broad range of routine and specialty services for both inpatient and outpatient medical care.

Each department of the laboratory as registered medical technologist, medical laboratory technicians, and lab assistants employed by Pushmataha Hospital.

Pushmataha Hospital laboratory department holds a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) certificate from the Health Care Finance Administration.

Bloodbank

The bloodbank provides blood and blood components for transfusion. All blood products are received from the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Chemistry

The chemistry department performs general chemistry, therapeutic drug, lipid, hepatitis, and endocrine testing. Routine and stat testing is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Coagulation

The coagulation laboratory offers a relatively full range of diagnostic services. The routine tests are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and include a wide variety of tests. More specialized testing is performed by. . Outpatient testing is offered during regular business hours.

Hematology

The hematology laboratory offers a full range of routine tests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A wide variety of special tests are performed either in the hematology laboratory or in the special hematology laboratory some off site. Some of the tests are performed only by prior arrangement and during routine hours. Outpatient testing is offered during regular business hours.

Immunology

The Microbiology/Virology Department offers a wide range of services for isolation and identification of bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. Specimens should be accompanied by pertinent clinical information to ensure that proper techniques will be employed in culturing the specimen.
